Primary Research For Magazine & Audience Feedback

Before beginning to produce my magazine, I have decided to create a magazine questionnaire for my target market. This would be to ask them specific questions on a magazine to see their needs and preferences where I will take the results into consideration whilst creating my media product.

As this was a quick research task being carried out, I took out the four main questions I felt would be most significant to my creation of my magazine cover. Here are the following results to each question.

Red was the most popular colour to use for a horror magazine cover which is very conventional. The reason why I had added other colours was to see what other colours that I may have to use to keep my magazine interesting and I could potentially use for cover other lines.

Majority of the results came through as a simple magazine with the image being more dominate. However, this was very close and I would have to take both into consideration, whether using the main image and some text around it to keep a balance of the two.

The results show that the simple style of typeface was very popular as it would be a lot easier to read for the text on my magazine cover. I would take this into consideration whilst designing my cover lines and text on the cover to make sure I meet the consumer needs effectively.

The average price would have to be around the £3 region mark, which is affordable for my target audience to pay. The lower the price is the quality would be lower and if it is too high then my target audience would not be able to afford it. I would now retail my price for £3.99.
