This poster
was created specifically for the main image to be more dominant without using
the review I usually planned to feature on the film poster. A TV with the
release date has been added in the background so people are aware to watch the
film on that specific day the film is releasing. This was not my final poster
due to the poster not having a balance of the text and image together. I felt
that this would not have been effective enough to attract my target audience as
there was not much going on.
The second
poster created I had changed the image completely but kept the layout the same
as the first attempt. This poster was progressing to become better but was
still not enough. I felt that this poster was lacking professionalism, as I
tried making the film title a blood-spattered effect but it did not match the
whole poster itself. The release date and the film website has been positioned
just above the credits to allow the image not to be just plain and tedious. Again,
I felt that this would not have been effective enough to attract my target
audience as there was not much going on.
Back to the original image I used in the first film poster.
I have manipulated the image further with the illusion effect of the victims
face becoming more visible and effective. The whole layout has changed. The
review has been positioned at the very top of the magazine as I felt text
needed to be added in to create more of a professional look and to convey
conventions. The film title has moved to the bottom with more text and
information being added to follow conventions. I felt this was a lot more professional
with the layout and had a great balance between the text and image. This would
appeal to my target audience needs more as
I have used the research very well and taken their answers into careful
consideration. However, I felt the positioning of the film title should always
be at the top of the film poster, as the review just looked odd by itself and
made the top half of the film poster very plain and unusual. This was the only
difference towards my final poster design.
