Further Audience Feedback From Twitter

I thought it would be a good idea to carry out further audience research to see what the social media think of my Poster and Magazine after completing both to a high standard. Due to the many followers I have, I recieved a little amount of feedback from my followers on Twitter. Here are the results.

Both results show that Twitter has allowed me to recieve very good feedback. This shows that my media product is heading towards the right direction. However, I did recieve some critism, here is one example of what someone on Twitter replied to me.

This type of feedback is good as it allows me to see specific areas on where to improve. By using Twitter allows me to 'Hashtag' certain trending topics and this helped me reach out to a wider target audience, hence the random reply.

Magazine Final - Flat Plan & Cover

To follow the convention of a horror magazine cover, I had changed the flat plan and have produced a new one which I felt met the requirements of my target audience and that followed the common conventions of a horror magazine.

Here is the final version of my magazine cover.

Creation Of My Magazine

Magazine Alternative's

The first magazine I produced since the mock up was this. The layout, image, colour scheme and text gave me an idea where I wanted everything in position. However, I feel that this is not up to scratch. The conventions are there by the image, colour scheme and layout but do not look appealing at all. This would not be ideal for my target audience as it does no look professional at all and needed some changed to it.

The second edit had a lot of changes with the layout. I thought making it a little different and following my flat plans would be ideal. But again this did not look as attractive as I assumed. However, it has given me a wider range of ideas to manipulate and use for my final media product.

The last edit was to change the addtional colour to orange and to change the layout of the magazine according to the flat plans I had created. However, this was too plain and not up to a high standard of what a horror magazine should be potrayed as.

Magazine Mock Up

Cover Lines

Cover lines are a very significant aspect in a magazine as they would inform and engage the target audience for a magazine and tell them what features are inside or to attract the audience with some catchy taglines/slogans. This must mean I have to draw up some ideas and come up with some cover lines for my magazine that will suit my genre to its best potential and to make sure I convey conventions. From my research answers that I have, most people would want to see 3-4 cover lines on my magazine. This is a common convention aswel on horror magazines, as my moodboard and analysis section on my blog show different examples of this. I will now have to follow this and to be conventional. My main cover line would have to be about my film that is releasing and to ensure this stands out from other cover lines. I would also need a cover line that has something else exclusive inside which may not be on other magazine. Here are my current ideas that some of them are going to feature on my magazine front cover.

Magazine Colour Scheme

Here I have created two colour schemes that I feel I need to add into my magazine based on my analysis and research carried out. They are the conventional colours of red, white, black and an additional colour of orange, founded by my primary research.

The conventional colours red, white and black will be used very frequently in my magazine cover to follow conventions of a horror magazine. These three colours compliment and contrast well together. All three are also neutral colours so would appeal to both genders an overall my target audience.

The use of orange along with black and white could allow the magazine cover to gain some brightness towards the cover. Orange is a neutral colour and stands out very well with black and white. It would also allow red to be contrasted well with it as they are both similar colours and have the same effects.
